Beauty Therapy - Level 1 Diploma

This course will help you develop your practical skills for improving the appearance of clients' hands and feet with basic manicure and pedicure services.

You will be able to provide relaxing head massage treatments, cleansing and toning routines, and advice for a good skincare routine.

You will also develop basic makeup application techniques.

You will learn to:

• Follow health and safety in the salon
• Introduction to the hair and beauty sector
• Provide basic manicure treatments
• Provide basic pedicure treatments
• Salon reception duties
• Skincare
• The art of photographic make-up
• Themed face painting
• Working with others in the hair and beauty sector
• Basic makeup application
• Create a hair and beauty image
• Nail art application
• Presenting a professional image in a salon

You will need:

• A good understanding of English at entry level 3 enables you to sit exams and complete assignments
• Any Entry 3 or Level 1 equivalent qualification previously achieved in any subject

You will be assessed through practical observation, oral questions, online exams, and completed assignments.

Adults - Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2

If you will be aged 19+ on 31st August prior to the start date of your course, up to Level 2, then your study with us will be free. You must have lived for 3 years within the EU/EEA/UK prior to the start of your course, you must have lived in the UK before 1st January 2021 and you must have permission to live in the UK for at least 12 months from the first day of learning. This course is free for those meeting the criteria for funding.

You can progress into a Level 2 Diploma in Beauty, a Level 2 Diploma in Nails, a Level 2 Diploma in Hair or Level 2 in Media Makeup.
