ABOUT THE COURSE

This course is designed for 16-24-year-old learners who have an EHCP or school leavers who require a high level of support on a Pathway to Employment.

This course supports the learner’s development of key skills and attitudes valued by employers. This qualification allows you to gain a grounding in a wide range of topics/skills to prepare you for the world of work.

  • Undertaking work placement
  • Rights, responsibilities and citizenship
  • Investigating rights and responsibilities at work
  • Candidate project

  • Effective speaking for the workplace
  • Attitudes and values for personal development
  • Take part in leisure activities
  • Recognise the benefits of leisure time
  • Plan and make a journey using public transport

WHAT WILL I NEED?

This course is ideal for those aged 16-24 with a current Educational and Health Care Plan (EHCP) or school leavers who require a high level of support on a Pathway to Employment.

You should have an Entry Level 2 qualification or Initial Assessment results at Entry Level 2.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

You will be assessed through a variety of methods based on course requirements and individual needs. For example:

  • Observations
  • Portfolios and workbooks
  • Practical Activities
  • Questioning
  • Peer feedback

Throughout the course, you will be gathering evidence/information in each unit. There are different methods that evidence can be gathered to meet individual needs.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

If you are aged 16-24 and have an EHCP, the course will be free.

WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?

This course provides the skills needed to improve your employability skills to progress into employment.
