WHAT WILL I STUDY?

The Pearson BTEC Level 1/Level 2 First Certificate: 

You will cover a broad range of business related topics including:

  • Enterprise for Business
  • Finance for Business
  • Principles of Marketing
  • Using Business Documentation
  • Introducing Retail Business
  • Principles of Customer Service
  • Recruitment, Selection and Employment - job roles and functional areas of a business

WHAT WILL I NEED?

You need:

  • A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 9 – 3 including a grade 4 in either maths or English and a Level 1 qualification.

 

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

The Pearson BTEC Level 1/Level 2 First Certificate: 

All learners will be assessed initially in Maths and English

  • has mandatory and optional units
  • has two units that are externally assessed: Pearson sets and marks these assessments
  • is graded based on Pass, Merit or Distinction

WHAT WILL IT COST?

Aged 16-18


If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August prior to the start date of your course and you have the legal right to remain in the UK for the duration of your programme then your study with us will be free. Please see here for the documents you will need to show us.

WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?

  • This qualification provides a fantastic progression pathway into a number of roles within an organisation, which are transgerable across all businesses.  
  • Alternatively, you could progress onto Level 3 qualification in Business or choose to move onto an apprenticeship

Ruksana Patel

EMBA, MCom, BA(Hons), ATS, PGCE, QTLS

Business skilled, Mentor, Coach, and Academic - a zealous professional; pioneer in life-long learning with a breadth of knowledge, skills, and expertise within a variety of disciplines. As a Lecturer, Ruksana has taught BTEC Business Level 1, Level 2 and BTEC Level 3 Business course. In their role, they have prepared assignments, schemes of work and acted as an internal verifier for all courses that they have delivered. Currently an Advanced Practitioner – with a depth of experience & knowledge, coaching 10 teachers across all sites.

Ruksana is currently pursuing MPhil with University of Sunderland. Their research explores the ‘lived experiences’ of individual female students from a BAME background in FE - illuminating the stories of BAME women marginalised by social injustices, giving a voice to those who were not heard before.
