Employment:
Sandra Mirkovic is a full-time Travel and Tourism Lecturer at CONEL. In the year 2000, Sandra graduated with a degree in Travel and Tourism Management, and for ten years, worked for a Tour Operator as an Internet Travel Consultant specialising in package holidays. She was later promoted to the position of Internet Sales Supervisor and thoroughly enjoyed the job, especially the training aspect.
After a decade, Sandra made the decision to pursue Teacher Training to be able to teach travel and tourism courses. Her journey began at Southgate College, where she completed her studies and remained for four years. Subsequently, a teaching opportunity arose at CONEL’s Enfield Centre in 2013 where she applied and was offered a full-time Lecturer position in Travel and Tourism.
Throughout her career, Sandra has organised numerous educational trips for students, both within the UK and abroad. The students thoroughly enjoyed their experience of travelling abroad and acquired numerous transferable skills. The opportunity significantly contributed to their academic performance and personal growth.
One of the key aspects of delivering Travel and Tourism courses is the importance of continuous professional development (CPD). In June, Sandra attended two weeks of industrial training for JET2 Ground Operations, which was a fantastic experience. Sandra shares her knowledge of the industry with students and ensures that her teaching remains up-to-date and relevant.
The teachers listed may change, these shown are an example of the teachers who teach on these programmes.
